APBJC 2024

Greeting

We invite you to the 1st Asia & Pacific Bioinformatics Joint Conference (APBJC2024), which will take place at the Naha Cultural Arts Theater NAHArt, Okinawa, Japan, from October 22-24, 2024.

Bioinformatics, the interdisciplinary field of life and information sciences, is now attracting unprecedented attention. Big biological data on living organisms, from genome data to sensor data, are now available. The advancement of computational science, including artificial intelligence, is remarkable. Under this context, we need to understand the mechanisms of disease, keep healthy lives, improve agriculture, protect the global environment, and efficiently produce valuable substances. The impact of bioinformatics must be growing in the future.

In the Asia-Pacific region, further development of bioinformatics is highly demanded. In 2024, this goal will finally become a reality in Okinawa, Japan. This conference will be jointly held by the Japanese Society for Bioinformatics (JSBi), Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNET), International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), Genome Informatics Workshop (GIW), and the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference (APBC), which are the main organizations involved in bioinformatics research and education in the Asia-Pacific region. This first conference will be a memorable event that will accelerate the development of bioinformatics in the Asia-Pacific region.

We sincerely look forward to your support and participation in APBJC2024.

Conference Chairs:
Susumu Goto (Research Organization of Information and Systems)
Kiyoko F. Aoki-Kinoshita (Soka University)
